Meet: Point Pinole Shoreline Regional Park *Not Giant Highway Staging Area
When: Saturday, February 17th
Time: 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM
Join us for Oyster and Bird Watching at Point Pinole Regional Shoreline Park! The Watershed Project (TWP) and Golden Gate Bird Alliance (GGBA) at Point Pinole Shoreline to see native Olympia oysters and birds. We will find native Olympia oysters on the reef balls and watch birds! TWP provides how we monitor oysters and a small lecture on oysters' life. GGBA will introduce birds over there!
Please bring your Rain boots (longer is better) or Waterproof boots to walk on the mudflat, Binoculars (if you have them), a Water bottle, a Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen if needed.
This event will take place in light rain, but heavy rain will cancel the event.

Details:
We will meet up at the parking lot in Point Pinole Shoreline Regional Park (Atlas Staging Area, NOT Giant Highway Staging Area). Hike up to the fishing pier together (about 25 min hike on a flat trail) and go into the mudflat area to see the oyster reef balls and Olympia oysters. We will talk about oyster life stages and bird watching while exploring oyster reef balls. Then, we will hike back to the parking lot.
