Lavender Hill Planting
Saturday, March 8, 2025
10 AM–1 PM

Join Carquinez Regional Environmental Education Center (CREEC) volunteers for a planting event! Meet at the parking lot under the Carquinez Bridge to contribute to Lavender Hill. This planting will eventually form a beautiful lavender-covered slope bursting into bloom in May and attracting many pollinators, including honeybees, bumblebees, and butterflies. Various lavender varieties have been grown in Crockett for over 100 years, and were favorites (along with rosemary and basil) of the original Portugese and Italian residents. Planting is always rewarding, but planting lavender, surrounded by its fragrance, is an exquisite experience!
